Euro Cup Final 2012 – Spain 4 – 0 Italy

So here we are the final game of this summers Euro Cup 2012, its been emotional but worth it. Id just like to say thanks to all those who have read my stuff, Ill be back for Euro cup 2016 in France and I might do a little something for the world cup too! Anyway back to business!

Euro Cup 2012 final kicks off here in Kiev and the first shot of the game come from Pirlo just 1 minute in but it goes high and wide! In the opening exchanges Italy are actually the more aggressive. Spain are having some possession but there isn’t too much attacking movement.

After the first 5 minutes Spain manage to get more of the possession going forward with Jordi Alba starting really well on the left wing almost finding david Silva with acres of space in the Italian box. The Ole’s already resonating from the spanish crowd here. 10 minutes in and great play by spain great interplay then a great strike by Xavi but it goes just a whisker over the bar! A really nice effort.

13 minutes in and another great spanish move Fabregas going to the byline, crosses for silva who heads into the Italian net! A really nice move by the Spanish and they have deserved an early lead here! Spain 1 – 0 Italy!

The Italians move forward after the goal with a few attacks earning a couple of corners which are dealt with well by Casillas. 20 minutes in now and Italy have to make an early substitutions with Chiellini rolling on his ankle, that looked painful! Balzeretti is on to replace him..

26 minutes on and Balzeretti makes and excellent run down the left and crosses a great ball that Balotteli almost converts if it wasn’t for some tidy goalkeeping by Casillas! He noticed the danger early there. Italy having some more possession now and are making in roads into the Spanish half. Cassano is found by a good ball by Pirlo and he shoots through 2 defenders and Casillas did will to save.

Cassano goes for goal a few minutes later which brings another good save from Casillas, Italy have been on top for the last 15 minutes here but havent taken their chances and Spain still lead. After 5 minutes and with only 5 minutes left of the half Jordi Alba busts a gut to get forward, you can see the danger a mile off but theres nothing the Italians can do! Iniesta finds him as he’s sprinting forward.. He gather the ball and bends it past Buffon its Spain 2 – 0 Italy! Really entertaining from Spain!

The Italians try to reply instantly with another shot from Cassano that is too hot for Casillas to handle! That chance comes to nothing and the Spanish are not content with their lead, they are still breaking forward and attacking the Italians seem to be lacking some discipline here too. The half time whistle goes Spain 2 – 0 Italy

The second half kicks off with Cassano coming off for Di Natale.. His first touch of the ball is to head it just over the top of the goal just 45 seconds in. Spain press again here with Febregas wriggling around in the box before the balls cleared, the chance eventually comes to nothing. Italy are wide open here but they have to push forward now they have nothing to lose!

Italy have another chance here and Di Natale strikes straight at Iker Casillas, the ball then comes back to him but he fails to find Balotelli, a good chance for Italy. Spain are knocking the ball around so well here, I mean we all know they can pass but this is almost flawless football at times here.

Italy make their third and final change of the game with Motta coming on for Montolivo after just 55 minutes. The first goal scorer David Silva is coming off for Spain’s first chance which see’s the pacey Pedro replace him.

Motta the 3rd sub has gone down injured here and this doesn’t look good especially as there Italy have no more substitutions. Hes had to go off here and Italy look to play the last half an hour of this game with 10 men and 2 – 0 surely and impossible ask!

Italy look tired now and there is still 20 minutes to go, Spain have continued to dominate possession. Di Natale seems to be Italy’s only outlet up front as me makes the odd run up front. The Spanish still creating chances here, Fabragas is still a threat running forward. Pedro has added some pace up front to a tiring Italian defence. Febregas is coming off here now as Spain put on Torres, this could get cruel for Italy here.

10 minutes left of this illustrious tournament and the Italians look dead on their feet.. Spain are strolling their way to the title. Spain are doing all the attacking here and as I type that Fernando Torres makes it 3 – 0 and the Italians look so dissheartened. This game is over with still 6 minutes left of normal time. To be fair to the spanish though the three passes that set up the spanish goals were all world class. This proves it, this spain team is the best national team to have ever existed as they win Euro 2008, World Cup 2010 and now Euro 2012.

Juan Mata replaces the amazing Iniesta who has been the player of the match in this final. and 2 minutes later he scores with the assist from Fernando Torres. The two Chelsea men break more records as Spain are now 4 – 0 up which is the biggest winning margin in Euro Cup Final history.

Thats it its all over and Balotelli storms off in a mood.. Spain celebrate again Spain WIN Spain 4 – 0 Italy
