Euro Cup Results – Semi Final 2: Germany 0 – 2 Italy

The game kicks off with both teams attempting to gain a hold on the game. The Germans have the first probs into the Italian defence and within the first few minutes Buffon is forced to save twice and the Italians look nervous in defence. Two minutes after that and Kroos shoots well but it goes just over the bar.

After the first 12 minutes the Italians start moving forward more with Neuer having to save well twice int he next few minutes especially from a decent shot by Cassano. Around the 18 minute mark not and some poor defending by Badstuber allows the cross to come in and Balotelli heads the Italians into the lead! Germany 0 – 1 Italy.

After the goal the Germans push forward again and spend the next 10 minutes dominating possession and pushing forward but with shots limited to long range. Around the half an hour mark now and Italy have come more back into the game pushing forward again.. 35 minutes in and Balotelli is in behind again and he absolutely smashed it past Neuer! Quite incredible strike he wont strike a ball better than that in his career.

Germany look a bit shocked here and they attempt to take a foothold in the game once more but the Italians arent letting then, still roaming into the German half. The Italians do seem to be defending well much better than in the opening minutes when they seemed nervous. Nearing half time now here and I never thought I would say this but the Italians look the more comfortable team. The whistle blows for half time here Germany 0 – 2 Italy.

The Second half kicks off here and Germany have made two substitutions as they try to come back into this game, Gomez and Podolski come off for Reus and Klose. Reus looks to make and instant impact with his scuffed shot forces a simple save from Buffon, Reus already has done more than the man he replaced in Podolski. Reus passes to Lahm at the edge of the area and the right back looks to bend one into the top corner but it goes just over, really nice effort!

Germany have really stepped up the pressure here with Ozil playing well and Reus causing havos down the right hand side of the pitch. Germany win a free-kick near the edge of the area and its Reus that strikes it, really nice free kick stuck it well and forces a save from Buffon.

Sixty minutes in now and Italy make their second substitution with Montolivo coming off for Thiago Motta. Germany then control the ball again but Italy look dangerous on the break with Marchisio breaking forward and striking just wide. Balotelli wont get the chance to get his hatrick as he is replaced by Antonio Di Natale.

The Germans look to get on top again with Muller comes on for Boeteng and he is making some good movement down the right. The Germans look threatening and I dont think this game is over quite yet, 15 minutes still to play here.

The Germans are really pushing forward now three or for times the Italians should have scored on the counter attack, the germans pushing forward and winning set pieces but they havent had a real goal scoring opportunity. Four minutes left now and Hope is fading for the Germans, I cant say theres been any realy chance from either team the ball just floating between the 2 penalty areas. Hummels finally gets a decent chance which is hit straight at Buffon.

91st minute and Germany have a penalty Oezil to take, which he scores! 2 minuts left and its all to play for! Oezil sprints for the ball to get the game restarted quickly! Neuer is playing like a full back here quite incredible! But Germany cant break them! The final whistle goes and Italy are Through to meet Spain in the Final!
