The game kicks off with Germany starting the better of the two sides, the Germans have a lot of possession around the edge of the Danish penalty box but for the first 5/10 minutes and Thomas Muller has a fantastic opportunity right in the opening moments when, from just 5 yards, he pokes the ball straight at the keeper, he really should have scored their.
The Germans find their first goal of the game just after the 10 minute mark with Lukas Podolski firing one in with his left foot. After the goal the Germans keep the pressure on but after a few minutes they get a bit sloppy in possession and the Danish look to take command of the game.
Denmark have a corner here in the 25 minute which is header back into the middle by Danish forward Nicolas Bendtner and the ball meets a rising Krohn-Deli who scores his second goal of the Tournament with a header 5 yards out! 1 – 1!
Simon Kjaer brings down Thomas Muller right on the edge of the area for a Germany free-kick which Oezil takes passing to Podolski who hammers it wide. The last 10 minutes of the half have been dominated by the Germans with first a mistake by the Danish defence gifting the ball to Khadiera, who shots wide. The second half kicks off with Germany having the most of the opening possession Muller having one chance early on it comes to nothing, moments later Gomez runs forward with a solo effort and shoots well wide, ho probably had better options there.
A really big chance for Denmark, by far their best chance of the match just grazing the base of the outside of the post, Jakub Poulsen from the edge of the area with a thunderous strike. Neuer would have had no chance if that was on target.
Denmark are still a little threatening in this game and they are dangerous from set pieces but Germany do look in control, you can tell just from their passing that there is more quality in the German side. Its very much an almost period for the Germans here just after the 60 minute mark with their passing going well until the final ball.
Germany have had the majority of possession in this half but have had fewer real chances than the Danes as Neuer has to tip round a decent shot by Krohn-deli, the goalscorer. Germany just really havent been clinical enough in this game. Portugal are now winning this match and a goal from Denmark, which oh! my! Bendtner almost scores and probably should have a penalty with badstuber draggin down Bendtner as he shot. Not given, means that Germany dont go through.
Germany break after some Danish possession, Lars Bender the German right back puts Germany back in the lead of this game. Safety now for the Germans as with only 10 minutes left, they look a safe bet to top the group.
Daniel Agger has an effort from the corner of which his header is just high and wide of the right hand post. In the closing minutes of this game now of which neither team has many chances. Germany with a free-kick with less than 2 minutes left to play. Scheinsteiger hits the wall with the shot the ball falls for Khediera who puts through an offside Klose.
